2 Million are Impacted by Hyperhidrosis in the UK

About 2 million people are impacted by excessive sweating aka ‘hyperhidrosis’ in the UK alone. An estimated 350 million are impacted by hyperhidrosis worldwide.

Sweating is a normal and essential bodily function but for hyperhidrosis sufferers, sweating interferes with their lives in normally negative ways.

Whether it be social embarrassment, or the inability to do a simple task (like writing on a piece of paper without the paper sticking to sweaty palms), hyperhidrosis can be debilitating to many people.

There’s two type of hyperhidrosis. Primary and Secondary. Primary hyperhidrosis is localised, and concentrated in certain areas such as the hands, feet, armpits, groin, back, head and face and almost always occurs on both sides of the body. Secondary hyperhidrosis is generalised, presenting itself all over the body and not always in a specific area.

hyperhidrosis.org is an extensive and useful guide to all things hyperhidrosis and the various treatments that can be used to manage it. We’ve inserted a slideshow of very helpful infographics from their website which focus on excessive sweating of the hands and feet!
